Court Restrains APC, INEC from Sidelining Cross River Chairman Alphonsus Eba

ABUJA — The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory has issued an interim injunction restraining the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from acting on a resolution intended to sideline the Cross River State Chairman of the APC, Hon. Alphonsus Ogar Eba.

Justice J. E. Obanor granted the order on Wednesday in a suit filed by Eba challenging a November 26, 2025, resolution that he claimed was aimed at unlawfully preventing him from performing his duties.

Court Orders:

· The APC, INEC, and other defendants are barred from implementing the said resolution.
· Eba cannot be stopped from attending the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on December 19 or any other party meetings during his tenure.
· The defendant Ekum Ekok Ojogu is restrained from parading himself as Acting State Chairman.

The judge adjourned the case to January 22, 2026, for further hearing.
