“This Won’t Happen Again,” Tinubu Vows After Plateau Killings

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has vowed that the recent wave of killings in Plateau State will not happen again, assuring residents of decisive government action to restore peace.

The President made the declaration during a condolence visit to affected communities, where he met with victims’ families, traditional leaders, and local authorities. He described the attacks as “senseless and unacceptable,” stressing that the protection of lives and property remains the government’s top priority.

Tinubu pledged to strengthen security operations in the state, including increased troop deployment, enhanced intelligence gathering, and closer collaboration with community leaders to prevent further violence.

He also directed security agencies to ensure that those responsible for the attacks are identified and brought to justice without delay. According to him, impunity will no longer be tolerated.

The killings in Plateau have sparked national outrage, with many Nigerians calling for urgent and sustained intervention to address recurring violence in the region.

Community leaders, while welcoming the President’s visit, urged the federal government to go beyond promises and implement long-term solutions that tackle the root causes of the crisis.

Security analysts have emphasized the need for proactive measures, including early warning systems and improved coordination among security agencies.

As tensions remain high, residents hope the President’s assurances will translate into concrete actions that guarantee lasting peace in Plateau State.
