Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jr Hosts Mega Empowerment, APC and PDP Leaders Unite in Abia

A member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jr, has empowered hundreds of constituents with motorcycles, vehicles, and financial support in a large-scale programme that also showcased rare political unity across party lines.

The empowerment initiative, held as part of activities marking his birthday, saw the distribution of over 150 motorcycles, about 15 vehicles, and cash support to beneficiaries aimed at boosting small businesses and improving livelihoods.

The event attracted key stakeholders from both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), forming what participants described as a “rainbow coalition.”

Speaking at the event, Erondu emphasized his commitment to economic empowerment, noting that supporting youths, women, and vulnerable groups remains central to his development agenda. He urged beneficiaries to utilize the resources effectively to grow their businesses and support their families.

The lawmaker also expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and called for the return of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu to contest the 2027 governorship election in Abia.

Dignitaries at the event, including former Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu and Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, commended the scale of the programme, describing it as impactful and uncommon for a first-term lawmaker.

Observers say the event highlights both the growing importance of grassroots empowerment and increasing cross-party collaboration in Abia politics.
