Uzodimma Moves to Reconcile APC Members, Urges Unity Ahead of 2027

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has taken decisive steps to reconcile aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State, appealing for unity and cohesion within the party’s ranks as the critical 2027 general elections draw increasingly closer.

The reconciliation move, widely seen as a strategic and timely intervention, comes against the backdrop of reported internal tensions and factional divisions within the APC structure in Imo State — fault lines that party leaders fear could undermine the ruling party’s electoral prospects if left unaddressed.

Governor Uzodimma, in his characteristic role as a unifier and stabilising force within the APC, reached out to key party stakeholders, aggrieved members, and various interest groups within the Imo APC structure, urging them to set aside personal differences and rally behind the collective goal of delivering victory for the party in 2027.

Speaking to party faithful, the Governor emphasised that unity remains the APC’s greatest weapon — stressing that a divided party hands victory to the opposition on a silver platter, while a united party is virtually unbeatable at the polls.

“Our strength lies in our unity. Whatever grievances exist within our party family must be resolved internally with maturity and the spirit of brotherhood. We cannot afford division as 2027 approaches,” Uzodimma is reported to have declared.

The Governor’s reconciliation efforts are said to be targeted at bringing back influential APC members who have either gone cold on the party or are flirting with defection to opposition platforms — a trend that has accelerated across Nigeria as the 2027 political season intensifies.

Political stakeholders in Imo State have largely welcomed Uzodimma’s reconciliation initiative, describing it as a necessary and courageous step toward rebuilding the party’s internal cohesion and projecting a united front ahead of what promises to be one of Nigeria’s most fiercely contested election cycles.

The APC’s national leadership is also believed to be closely monitoring the reconciliation process in Imo State, recognising that the party’s performance in the southeast — a region where it faces stiff opposition — will be significantly influenced by the level of internal harmony achieved before election day.
