Popular Arise News anchor Rufai Oseni has dismissed reports claiming he was suspended from the station following an altercation with his boss, describing the allegations as completely false .
The rumour, which began circulating online on April 14, 2026, was attributed to a social media post by one High Chief Lawrence Igbins Okoro. The post alleged that Oseni got into a heated argument with a superior at the station and banged his hand on a table, an action that reportedly earned him a suspension .
However, in a swift reaction on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Oseni vehemently denied the claims, insisting that no disciplinary action has been taken against him by his employers at Arise News .
The broadcaster explained that his absence from the screen is due to an official assignment abroad.
“This is a lie, the man is lying. I was not suspended, I am on a working visit to Germany. This is fake news, kindly report that account,” Oseni wrote .
He urged the public to disregard the fabricated report and called on social media users to report the account responsible for spreading the misinformation .
Oseni maintained that he remains fully engaged with his work and continues his duties with Arise News, stressing that there has been no suspension . As of press time, Arise News management has not issued an official statement on the matter.
