ABUJA — The national headquarters of the Labour Party (LP) witnessed a massive surge in political activity on Wednesday. High-profile politicians trooped in to buy their expression of interest and Labour Party nomination forms ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Among the top political gladiators who secured their forms are former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, and former lawmaker, Senator Ishaku Abbo. Labaran Maku picked forms to contest the Nasarawa North Senatorial District seat.
Meanwhile, Senator Abbo is officially eyeing the governorship ticket for Adamawa State.Other key aspirants who picked up nomination forms include:Adamu Bako Blanzou: Running for the Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency.
Emmanuel Ben: Seeking the Akwa Ibom State governorship ticket.Jesse James Ayenajeh: Contesting the Toto Federal Constituency seat in Nasarawa State.
Speaking to reporters after picking his form, Labaran Maku praised the transparency of the process. He stated that the party has built massive grassroots trust across the country. According to the Labour Party national publicity secretary, Ken Eluma Asogwa, the submission of completed forms will take place between May 17 and May 18, 2026.
Screening of the aspirants will officially commence on May 20, 2026.
