Akwa Ibom APC Unanimously Adopts Governor Umo Eno for Second Term

UYO — The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has officially adopted Governor Umo Eno as its sole candidate for a second term in the upcoming 2027 governorship election.

This key political decision follows the recent high-profile defection of Governor Umo Eno from the PDP to the APC. The move has successfully realigned the state’s executive leadership directly with the federal government.

Party stakeholders, led by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and APC State Chairman Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, ratified the adoption during a unified congress meeting. The party passed an unconditional vote of confidence in Governor Eno.

They cited his excellent execution of the development-driven ARISE Agenda across the state’s 31 local government areas as the major reason for the endorsement.

Governor Eno recently submitted his formal APC nomination forms in Abuja. He expressed deep gratitude to the party leadership for the historic endorsement.

He reiterated his strong commitment to consolidating critical infrastructural and economic projects throughout the state. This strategic alliance solidifies the ruling party’s political supremacy in Akwa Ibom.

It also guarantees a unified front ahead of the general elections. All rights reserved ©2026 CDA News Nigeria.Privacy Policy: CDA News Nigeria is committed to protecting your privacy.
