ABUJA – Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), has been released after his initial questioning session with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), with further engagements scheduled.
Confirming the development on his social media account early Saturday, Malami described the interrogation as “successful” and thanked God for “divine intervention.” The former justice minister maintained that allegations against him were fabricated and expressed confidence that the truth would eventually emerge.
Malami had previously announced his intention to fully cooperate with the EFCC’s summons, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and accountability principles he advocated while in government. The investigation concerns alleged misconduct during his tenure as Nigeria’s chief law officer.
The former minister continues to assert his innocence while complying with the anti-graft agency’s processes, with additional questioning sessions planned as the investigation progresses.
