Cleared and Victorious: Igariwey Dismisses Disqualification Claims, Clinches APC Ticket for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency

Engr. Chukwuemeka Igariwey has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency in Ebonyi State, brushing aside disqualification rumours that had swirled ahead of the party’s primary exercise.

“There was no disqualification. I was screened, cleared, and I won fair and square — the people of Afikpo/Edda have spoken through this primary.”

Igariwey, who has represented the constituency in the House of Representatives, was among candidates who faced pre-primary scrutiny over eligibility requirements. He firmly denied that he was at any point disqualified, describing the claims as politically motivated attempts to discredit his candidacy before the contest.

After the votes were counted, Igariwey emerged victorious, securing the APC ticket to contest the general election for the Afikpo/Edda seat. His supporters gathered in celebration, describing the outcome as a vindication of his record and continued relevance in the constituency.

The victory sets the stage for a keenly watched general election battle in Ebonyi State, with Igariwey now positioned as the ruling party’s standard-bearer for the federal constituency.
