Soludo Tasks City Boys’ Women Coordinators on Mobilisation for Tinubu’s Re-Election

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has charged women coordinators of the popular City Boys movement with the critical responsibility of intensifying grassroots mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Governor Soludo, speaking with characteristic passion and political clarity, tasked the women coordinators with the strategic assignment of reaching every household, market, community, and ward across Anambra State to build an unstoppable wave of support for the President’s second term ambition.

The Governor emphasised that women remain the most powerful and effective force in grassroots political mobilisation — describing them as the backbone of any successful electoral campaign and urging the City Boys’ women coordinators to harness their unique organisational strength for maximum political impact.

“Women are the heartbeat of every community. When women move, the whole community moves. I am counting on you to ensure that every vote in Anambra State is secured for Mr. President,” Soludo is reported to have told the coordinators.

His directive signals Anambra State’s firm alignment with President Tinubu’s re-election project — a significant political statement from a governor whose state sits in the heart of the southeast, a region the APC is aggressively working to penetrate ahead of 2027.

The City Boys movement, which has grown into one of Anambra’s most recognisable political and social platforms, is widely regarded as a formidable grassroots structure capable of reaching voters at the most basic community level across the state.

Soludo’s mobilisation call to the women coordinators is seen as part of a broader and well-coordinated APC strategy to consolidate its base in the southeast and neutralise the opposition’s stronghold in one of Nigeria’s most politically complex regions.

Political analysts say the Governor’s move further cements his role as one of President Tinubu’s most strategically valuable allies in the southeast — a region whose electoral votes could prove decisive in determining the outcome of the 2027 presidential contest.
