UMUAHIA, NIGERIA — A former member of the House of Representatives, Sam Onuigbo, has congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr, urging Nigerians to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence.
Onuigbo, who currently represents the South-East on the North East Development Commission (NEDC), commended the Muslim Ummah for their devotion, discipline, and spiritual commitment throughout the holy month. He noted that the lessons of Ramadan—sacrifice, patience, and charity—should be sustained beyond the festive period.
In his goodwill message, the former lawmaker emphasized the need for Nigerians to come together in the spirit of brotherhood, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
He stressed that unity remains the foundation for national development and stability.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I urge all Nigerians to continue promoting peace, tolerance, and mutual respect. Our diversity should be a source of strength, not division,” he stated.
Onuigbo further called on citizens to support efforts aimed at strengthening national cohesion, adding that collective responsibility is key to addressing the country’s challenges and building a more prosperous future.
Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and is observed with prayers, thanksgiving, and acts of generosity among Muslims worldwide.
