President Bola Tinubu has declared that his administration will not bow to the intimidation of terrorists, bandits, or any criminal elements threatening the nation’s security.
Speaking on Monday during a meeting with service chiefs at the State House, the President reaffirmed his commitment to crushing all forms of insurgency and kidnapping plaguing parts of the country.
“Let me make it clear: we will never bow to terrorists’ intimidation. Nigeria is not a banana republic. We will pursue them to their hideouts and bring them to justice,” Tinubu vowed.
The President ordered security forces to intensify ongoing operations, particularly in the North-West and North-Central regions, where bandits have stepped up attacks on communities and travellers.
He also directed intelligence agencies to work more closely with state governments, including newly deployed forest guard units, to ensure no part of Nigeria remains a safe haven for criminals.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remains resolute, adding that “the era of paying ransom and negotiating with terrorists is over.”
