Troops Neutralise Terrorist, Rescue Three Kidnapped Victims in Zamfara

Nigerian troops have neutralised a suspected terrorist and rescued three kidnapped victims during a coordinated security operation in Zamfara State.

The operation, carried out by troops deployed in the state, formed part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and restore peace in communities affected by banditry and terrorist activities.

According to security sources, the troops engaged the armed suspects in a fierce exchange of gunfire, resulting in the elimination of one of the terrorists. The successful operation also led to the rescue of three abducted persons who had been held captive by the criminals.

The rescued victims were reportedly provided immediate medical attention and are expected to be reunited with their families after necessary debriefing and assessment by relevant authorities.

Military authorities reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining offensive operations against terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements threatening the safety of lives and property across the country.

Residents of the affected communities have continued to call for intensified security presence to prevent further attacks and ensure lasting peace in the region.

The latest success adds to recent military efforts aimed at curbing insecurity in Zamfara and other parts of Nigeria’s North-West region.

This is a developing story, and further details are expected from military authorities.
