A three-storey building collapsed in the Alakija area of Lagos State on Thursday, leaving several people feared trapped beneath the debris.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 11:40 a.m., throwing residents and business owners in the area into panic as the structure suddenly gave way.
As of the time of filing this report, the exact number of people trapped had not been confirmed. Witnesses at the scene said anxious residents and bystanders immediately gathered around the collapsed building while awaiting the arrival of emergency responders and rescue teams.
Authorities had yet to provide official information on possible casualties or the cause of the collapse.
