Ishionwu Says Atuma’s APC Primary Victory Signals Fresh Political Direction for Abia Central

the APC Candidate for Ikwuano State Constituency, ‘Ugwumba’ Chika Ishionwu, has described the emergence of Rt. Hon. Emeka Atuma as the APC senatorial candidate for Abia Central as a sign of growing momentum for political change ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a political statement, Ishionwu likened the current political atmosphere in Abia Central to what he called the “Kabila spirit,” referencing former Congolese leader Laurent-Désiré Kabila as a symbol of resilience and political transformation. He said Atuma’s victory at the APC primaries reflects what he believes is the desire of many supporters for purposeful leadership, fresh ideas, and stronger representation.

According to Ishionwu, the 2027 election presents an opportunity for voters to democratically decide the future of Abia Central through the ballot. He also called on party members and supporters to unite behind what he described as the “Grace Movement” and work towards the party’s electoral success.

CDA News Nigeria reports that the statement reflects the views of Chika Ishionwu and forms part of the ongoing political discourse ahead of the 2027 general election. Political parties and candidates have continued to present their visions and campaign messages as preparations for the polls intensify.
