Minister of Works, David Umahi, has broken his silence over the death of Mary Habila, describing the 26-year-old nurse as “like a daughter” to him and expressing deep sorrow over the tragic incident.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Umahi, while reacting to the ongoing investigation, said Mary Habila had been close to his family and that her death came as a painful shock. He emphasized that he had nothing to hide and pledged his full cooperation with security agencies investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
The minister also called on the public to refrain from speculation and allow the police to complete their investigation, including the proposed autopsy and other forensic procedures aimed at establishing the exact cause of death.
Umahi reiterated his confidence in the investigative process and urged Nigerians to await the official findings before drawing conclusions. He extended his condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for strength for them during the difficult period.
