Abuja – In a significant move to boost its operational effectiveness, the Nigerian Navy has redeployed 65 Rear Admirals to new strategic commands and institutions.
The large-scale reshuffle, approved by the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, was announced in a statement from the Director of Naval Information, Commodore Ayiwuyor Adams-Aliu, on Monday.
According to the statement, the postings are aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and enhancing the Navy’s capacity to secure the nation’s maritime domain. The redeployment affects key positions across the Naval Headquarters, Defence Headquarters, and various tri-service establishments.
Among the prominent new appointments are:
· Rear Adm. Suleiman Abdullahi – Chief of Logistics, Naval Headquarters.
· Rear Adm. Abdullahi Ahmed – Commandant, National Defence College.
· Rear Adm. Abubakar Mustapha – Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command.
· Rear Adm. Abdul-Hamid Baba-Inna – Navy Secretary.
Vice Admiral Abbas congratulated the newly appointed officers and urged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and dedication in their new roles.
