PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA — The Joint Task Force (JTF) has issued an urgent security advisory following intelligence reports revealing plans by terrorists to launch coordinated attacks against civilians during the upcoming Eid El Kabir celebrations.
Security agencies have uncovered plots targeting public spaces, worship centres, and crowded marketplaces. The JTF warned that insurgent groups aim to disrupt the festive season and inflict maximum casualties on innocent citizens.In response, the task force has deployed additional troops and heightened surveillance across vulnerable regions.
The advisory urges citizens to remain highly vigilant, report suspicious packages, and alert security forces to unfamiliar faces in their neighborhoods.”We are on high alert,” a JTF spokesperson stated.
“We advise the public to cooperate with security personnel at checkpoints and avoid crowded gatherings where security presence is minimal.”Community leaders and religious authorities are requested to screen worshippers and monitor perimeter areas during festive prayers.
The JTF reassures the public that operations are underway to neutralize the threats and guarantee a peaceful Eid celebration.
