Port Harcourt, Rivers State — Troops of the Nigerian Army have raided a suspected criminal hideout in Rivers State, recovering a cache of arms and other items during the operation as part of ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity in the region.
CDA News Nigeria gathered from reports that the operation was carried out following credible intelligence on the activities of suspected criminal elements operating within the area. During the raid, security personnel reportedly recovered firearms and other exhibits believed to have been used for criminal activities.
The operation forms part of the military’s sustained offensive against armed gangs, cult groups, kidnappers, and other criminal networks threatening peace and security in Rivers State and the wider Niger Delta region.
“The operation was intelligence-driven and led to the recovery of arms from the suspected criminal hideout. Troops remain committed to sustaining operations against criminal elements and ensuring the safety of law-abiding citizens,” the military said.
CDA News Nigeria reports that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend suspects connected to the hideout. The Army urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information that would aid ongoing operations against criminal groups.
