The Abia State Police Command has arrested 13 suspects in a major security operation that led to the dismantling of suspected armed robbery and cult networks operating in parts of the state.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the operation was carried out as part of ongoing efforts by the command to tackle violent crimes and improve public safety across Abia State.
CDA News gathered from the report that the suspects were apprehended during intelligence-led raids conducted in identified criminal hideouts. Police said investigations are ongoing to determine the level of involvement of each suspect and to identify other members of the criminal groups.
According to the command, the crackdown is aimed at reducing armed robbery, cult-related violence, and other criminal activities that threaten peace and security in the state. The police also assured residents that operations against criminal gangs would continue until all identified suspects are brought to justice.
