The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has inaugurated reconciliation committees as part of efforts to resolve internal disagreements and strengthen unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the move follows grievances that emerged from the party’s recent primary elections. The NDC had earlier announced a reconciliation process aimed at addressing concerns raised by aggrieved aspirants and members.
CDA News gathered from the report that **Prof. Pat Utomi and Alhaji Buba Galadima** were named to head the reconciliation committees. The committees are expected to engage affected members and work towards resolving disputes within the party.
The development comes as the NDC continues to build its structures ahead of the 2027 elections. The party has said it wants to operate as a strong political institution and promote internal unity.
The reconciliation initiative is expected to help reduce tensions among members following the conduct of the party’s primaries. The NDC had previously denied allegations that its primary elections were deliberately manipulated or that candidates were imposed.
Political observers will be watching the committees closely as the party seeks to strengthen its ranks and prepare for the next general election.
CDA News Nigeria will continue to monitor developments within the NDC and report further updates.
