ABUJA — President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in Nigeria .
CDA News Nigeria gathered that President Tinubu, in a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the result reflected the confidence the people of Osun reposed in the governor .
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” Tinubu said .
CDA News Nigeria reports that the President urged Adeleke to unite the people of the state and rally them for growth, stability, and socio-economic progress, regardless of their political choices during the election .
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner .
Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, was declared winner after polling 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 444,815 votes .
