YOLA — Former Adamawa State Governor, Mohammed Bindow, has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC), formally re-registering as a member of the party in his ward in Mubi.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Bindow’s return was witnessed by the Mubi APC Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Guruja, alongside thousands of supporters, political associates, friends, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to receive him.
Speaking after his registration, Bindow noted that his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates and confidants. He emphasised that his return was consistent with his long-standing commitment to party discipline and his position against anti-party activities. According to him, he held consultations with his brother and close political confidant, Vice President Kashim Shettima, before making the decision.
CDA News Nigeria reports that Bindow also recalled his recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu, describing the encounter as cordial and memorable, adding that the President expressed happiness over his return to the APC family. He endorsed all APC candidates and pledged his full support for the party’s success at the polls.
His return comes less than a month after his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on August 1, 2026. Bindow, who governed Adamawa State from 2015 to 2019, had defected to the ADC after the APC governorship primaries in 2022.
