Anambra Police Intensify Election Security Training Ahead of Governorship Poll

The Anambra State Police Command has announced the intensification of election security training for its personnel ahead of the November 8 governorship election in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed in a statement on Thursday that the command is conducting intensive training and refresher courses across all area commands, divisions, and tactical units. The training, delivered in partnership with NGOs and stakeholders, focuses on professional conduct during elections, crowd management, intelligence sharing, and inter-agency collaboration.

Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu reaffirmed the command’s commitment to upholding principles of neutrality, professionalism, and integrity during the upcoming election. The continuous capacity-building sessions are designed to enhance officers’ operational readiness and ensure the safety of voters, electoral materials, and officials.

The police urged residents to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies to guarantee a hitch-free electoral exercise across Anambra State.
