Traditional rulers in three wards of Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area received the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District, Hon. Emeka Atuma. They blessed his campaign on Thursday, October 15, according to the campaign.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the candidate visited Amavor Ward 1, Amasa Ward 5 and Arongwa Ward 4, with the APC candidates for Osisioma Ngwa North and South State Constituencies, Hon. Iheyinna Mgbeahuru and Hon. Ogunka Iheanacho. At Amavor, the traditional ruler reportedly urged the team to be courageous and prayerful. In Amasa, the ruler declared his support, and in Amator, a community leader gave his blessing and prayers.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that women in Amasa Ward 5 told the candidate about the suffering caused by the deplorable state of their roads. In Amavor Ward 1, women presented him with a plantain and vegetable leaves to mark the community’s farming tradition, and the local government’s women leader said they would not abandon their culture. In Amasa, stakeholders also gave him a Bible and a wrapper.
Atuma said the Federal Government has everything the people need and asked them to vote for APC candidates at every level, from President Bola Tinubu to the state constituencies, as well as the governorship candidate, Eric Opah. In Arongwa Ward 4, he said he had come to ask for their votes and that a team of APC officials would make his work easier if elected.
The campaign’s director-general for Osisioma Ngwa, Hon. Chucks Oriaku, said Atuma is the only hope for the district.
This account comes from the campaign. CDA News Nigeria independently verified the crowds and the reactions, and the Abia State Government had not responded to residents’ road concerns.
