APC House of Reps Primaries: Nationwide Winners and Losers List Released

The All Progressives Congress has concluded its nationwide House of Representatives primaries, with a comprehensive list of winners and losers emerging from the keenly contested exercise.

The primaries, held across federal constituencies, saw incumbent lawmakers pitted against challengers in battles that tested the party’s internal cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Several high-profile incumbents secured return tickets, leveraging federal influence and constituency projects to fend off aggressive challengers. However, notable casualties included long-serving legislators who fell to younger, party-backed aspirants in upset victories.

In Lagos, Kano, and Rivers states, the contests were particularly fierce, with anti-party allegations trailing some results. The party’s national leadership has urged aggrieved aspirants to explore internal reconciliation mechanisms rather than defect to opposition platforms.

The full list reveals a mix of veteran retention and generational turnover, reflecting the APC’s attempt to balance experience with fresh faces as it prepares to defend its legislative majority.

The Independent National Electoral Commission is expected to receive the official candidate list following the conclusion of substitution and appeals windows.
