…Fugitive Son of Ex-Pension Task Team Chairman Nabbed in Abuja After Secret Return
The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina, the fugitive son of former Pension Reform Task Team chairman Abdulrasheed Maina, and handed him over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
CDA News Nigeria gathered that Faisal was arrested by DSS operatives in the Karsana area of Abuja after reportedly returning to Nigeria secretly.
According to security sources cited by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the arrest followed credible intelligence which indicated that Faisal had secretly returned to the country.
Faisal had reportedly been on the run since 2020 after facing prosecution by the EFCC on a three-count charge bordering on money laundering and conspiracy. He was declared wanted by the court after failing to appear for his trial alongside his father, who was previously convicted and sentenced over a multi-billion naira pension fraud.
The transfer of the suspect to the EFCC signals the continuation of his prosecution for the pending charges.
