A new commentary by Tony Icheku has described Onyebuchi Ememanka’s article on the APC candidate for Abia Central Senatorial District, Hon. Emeka Atuma, as “a parody of delusion and comedy” that substitutes personal ridicule for evidence-based argument.
CDA News Nigeria reports that the piece, titled “2027: Ememanka’s Parody of Delusion and Comedy,” faults Ememanka—Director of Publicity for Governor Alex Otti’s 2027 re-election campaign—for allegedly dodging substantive issues raised by Atuma on Federal funding of projects in Abia.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the author insists that if Ememanka disagrees with Atuma’s account of roads including Port Harcourt Road, Aba, Aba-Owerri Road, Umuahia–Ikot Ekpene and Umuahia–Arochukwu, he should present relevant records rather than insinuations about intoxication.
“Did Atuma make an inaccurate claim? Identify it and demonstrate the inaccuracy. That is how responsible political criticism contributes to democratic accountability,” the commentary states.
The piece highlights Atuma’s legislative record as a former House of Representatives member who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency from 2023 to 2027, noting his role as House Committee Chairman on Environment and interventions linked to the creation of NOSDRA and NESREA.
The author further argues that Atuma’s campaign emphasises measurable legislative representation through federal budgeting, oversight and constituency engagement, adding that Abians deserve clarity on project funding rather than political theatrics.
“Resort to personal abuses may attract attention, but they do not resolve questions about roads, public expenditure or legislative performance,” the piece concludes.
