Aisha Yesufu, Others Missing in NDC Council

At least five prominent figures in the Obidient Movement have been left out of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that the opposition party unveiled its campaign council members over the weekend ahead of the January 16 elections. However, several prominent supporters who played significant roles in mobilising votes for Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election were conspicuously absent from the list.

Those missing include Aisha Yesufu, political commentator Isaac Fayose, Moses Paul (popularly known as Dr Mo), Precious Oruche (Mama Pee), and Peter Akah (Randy Peter).

The absence of these key figures has sparked widespread online reactions. Netizens were seen mocking members of the Obidient Movement, particularly Aisha Yesufu, questioning the internal dynamics of the party and the shifting alliances within the support base.

CDA News Nigeria reports that the NDC has yet to issue an official statement explaining the exclusion of these key mobilizers from the campaign structure.
