Wike Fires Back at Bauchi Governor as PDP Crisis Deepens

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has fired back at Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, amid the deepening crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The exchange follows recent comments by Governor Mohammed, who is also a key figure in the PDP, reportedly criticizing Wike’s role and influence within the party.

In response, Wike dismissed the remarks, insisting that he remains a strong force in the party and will not be intimidated.
Wike, a former Rivers State governor, accused some PDP leaders of contributing to the party’s internal instability, stating that leadership failures and lack of unity have weakened its structure.

He maintained that constructive criticism should not be mistaken for disloyalty.
The Bauchi governor, on his part, has been vocal about the need for discipline and cohesion within the PDP, warning against actions that could further divide the party ahead of future elections.

The war of words highlights growing tensions among PDP stakeholders as the party grapples with internal disagreements and leadership struggles following recent electoral cycles.

Political analysts warn that continued infighting could affect the party’s chances in upcoming elections if not urgently addressed.

Efforts by party elders to mediate and restore unity are reportedly ongoing, though no breakthrough has been publicly announced.
