President Bola Tinubu has mocked the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, over his handling of the erosion crisis in Anambra State during his tenure as governor.
CDA News Nigeria gathered that the President made these remarks on Friday during a campaign rally in Akwa Ibom State. Although he did not mention Obi by name, Tinubu stated that the former Anambra governor ran away from tackling erosion, whereas he (Tinubu) confronted and tamed the Atlantic Ocean in Lagos State.
“There is one who said he is in one party they call NDC, who is running for president. He ran away from erosion in Anambra State. And he said he wants to be a president. Which president? He could not confront erosion. I, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I confronted the Atlantic Ocean, I tamed it for you,” Tinubu said.
The President also took a swipe at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, questioning his political loyalty and leadership quality. Tinubu described Atiku as a former “baby of the PDP” who ran away from the party over a little inconvenience to form a “dangerous ADC”.
“Is that a leadership trait? Is that a leadership character? And he wants you to vote for him. It is not for banana. He cannot put a house in order,” he added.
Furthermore, Tinubu mocked opposition parties, describing them as “mushroom parties” that lack the character and calibre of APC members. He emphasized that the ruling party remains united under dependable and honest leaders.
