Abia Police Nab Fraudsters in Fake NDLEA Uniforms

The Abia State Police Command has apprehended individuals suspected of impersonating National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officers to extort money from residents.

The suspects were detained after victims reported harassment and fraud by individuals claiming affiliation with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Police spokespersons confirmed the arrests and stated that the impostors used counterfeit identification and uniforms to conduct their activities.

Authorities have warned the public to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be an NDLEA operative, urging citizens to request proper identification and report suspicious encounters to the nearest police station.

The NDLEA has also distanced itself from the suspects, reaffirming its commitment to legitimate enforcement activities. The arrested individuals are expected to face prosecution upon completion of investigations.

Residents have been advised to remain vigilant as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to curb impersonation and related crimes across the state.
