The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expelled factional National Chairman, Nafiu Bala Gombe, alongside a member of the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide, and several others over alleged anti-party activities.
The decision was taken during the party’s ongoing National Convention in Abuja, where a motion for their expulsion was moved and adopted by an overwhelming majority of delegates.
Party sources indicated that the action followed internal disagreements and allegations of actions considered detrimental to the unity and progress of the party.
The expulsion marks a significant escalation in the ongoing leadership crisis that has rocked the ADC in recent weeks.
Delegates at the convention reportedly expressed strong support for the move, emphasizing the need to preserve party discipline and cohesion ahead of critical political engagements.
The development is expected to further reshape the internal dynamics of the ADC, as the party continues efforts to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from those affected by the expulsion. Political observers, however, say the move could trigger fresh legal battles and deepen existing divisions within the party.
