Anambra Declares Work-Free Day Ahead Of Governorship Election

AWKA – The Anambra State government has declared Friday a work-free day for civil servants to enable participation in Saturday’s governorship election.

Head of Service Mrs Theodora Igwegbe announced the measure in a statement on Thursday, noting that Governor Chukwuma Soludo approved the day to allow workers travel to their voting locations.

“The gesture was to encourage the active participation of the state workforce in the electoral process,” Igwegbe stated, describing voting as a vital civic duty.

The directive applies to all political appointees, permanent secretaries, and heads of government agencies across the state.
