Momodu Dismisses Claims Opposition Behind Trump’s Nigeria Comments
ABUJA – African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Dele Momodu has strongly rejected allegations that Nigerian opposition parties orchestrated former US President Donald Trump’s recent comments about Christian persecution in Nigeria.
Speaking on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, the Ovation Magazine publisher described the claims as baseless, stating, “Anyone who sees opposition behind this is just being clear that they have run out of ideas.”
Momodu questioned the logic behind the accusation, asking, “The opposition that is trying to put its act together now has time to go to Washington?”
He urged the Tinubu administration to address insecurity directly rather than politicizing the issue, emphasizing that the safety concerns raised by religious leaders like Jos-based Pastor El-Buba reflect genuine humanitarian crises, not political maneuvering.
