ADC’s Nwosu Confident of Victory in Anambra Governorship Election

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State, Mr. John Chuma Nwosu, has expressed strong confidence in winning the November 8 election, provided the process is free and fair.

Speaking on national television, Nwosu stated that his victory is assured if the election is free from vote-buying and voter apathy. He credited the new INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, with rekindling public trust in the electoral process.

“I am confident of victory because Ndi Anambra are eager for credible leadership. The only thing that can stop my victory is vote-buying,” Nwosu said.

He appealed to voters to turn out en masse and reject any form of financial inducement, emphasizing that a high voter turnout is crucial for a legitimate outcome.

Nwosu, who defected from the Labour Party to the ADC, described his current party as a broad coalition of stakeholders from various political backgrounds, including the PDP.

Highlighting his private sector experience in ICT, he unveiled his seven-point “SHEEEMS” agenda—focusing on Security, Health, Education, Economy, Environment, Management, and Social Welfare. He pledged to run a digitally-driven government, implementing e-governance across all sectors.

In a significant pledge, Nwosu also promised to serve only a single four-year term if elected, stating it is sufficient time to deliver measurable progress for the state.
