APC Accuses Otti, Police of Intimidating Members During E-Registration

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Hon. Uchenna Onubogu, has accused Governor Alex Otti and the state police command of orchestrating a campaign of harassment against APC members during the party’s ongoing e-registration exercise.

In a statement on Wednesday, Onubogu described the actions as politically motivated intimidation aimed at stifling opposition growth and frustrating President Bola Tinubu’s influence in the South-East.

He alleged that local government council chairmen and the police are colluding with the governor to disrupt registration activities and arrest APC supporters in areas such as Isialangwa, Arochukwu, Bende, Ohafia, Umuahia South, and Aba North.

Onubogu commended APC leaders like Chief Ikechi Emenike and State Chairman Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu for securing the release of detained members and called on the Inspector General of Police to intervene.

He warned that such actions undermine democracy and pit Governor Otti against President Tinubu’s vision of a united Nigeria.
