APC Wooing Kwankwaso to Retain Power in 2027, Alleges NNPP Chairman

KANO– The Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Hashimu Dungurawa, has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is desperately trying to woo former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to secure its hold on power beyond 2027.

Addressing journalists in Kano, Dungurawa claimed the APC is “weak, confused, and has lost direction,” and sees Kwankwaso as the only figure with the mass popularity needed to win the next general elections.

“Without him, they will be nowhere to be found in 2027,” Dungurawa stated. He asserted that the APC is “making noise” about a potential defection, but clarified that any move would require the ruling party to “amend their ways of administering this country.”

The comments highlight the intense political maneuvering and speculation already surrounding the next electoral cycle, with Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate, positioned as a potential kingmaker.
