Atiku Camp Says No Southern Candidate Can Defeat Tinubu in 2027

Supporters of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have warned that no southern presidential candidate can successfully unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The warning reportedly emerged amid ongoing political realignments and discussions over possible opposition coalitions ahead of the next presidential contest.

According to members of Atiku’s camp, the opposition must present a strong northern candidate capable of matching Tinubu’s political structure and nationwide influence if it hopes to reclaim power in 2027.

The camp argued that the ruling All Progressives Congress would likely retain significant support across the South-West region, making it difficult for another southern aspirant to build enough national momentum against the incumbent president.

The statement is expected to intensify debates over zoning, regional balance, and the opposition’s strategy ahead of the next election cycle.

Political observers believe conversations surrounding the 2027 presidency have continued to gain momentum despite Nigeria being barely midway into Tinubu’s current administration.

Neither Tinubu’s camp nor major southern political blocs had officially reacted to the claim as of the time of filing this report.
