Atiku: No Court Can Stop My 2027 Bid

Former Vice-President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has vowed to remain in the 2027 presidential race despite a recent Federal High Court judgment affecting the party’s leadership and his candidacy.

CDA News Nigeria gathered that in a statement issued on Friday in Sokoto, Atiku insisted that no court ruling, political pressure, or intimidation would force him to withdraw from the contest.

“Let me be clear to every Nigerian who has stood with us: I am in this race. I am not going anywhere. We will be on the ballot,” he declared.

The former Vice-President described the judgment—delivered by Justice Peter Lifu in a suit by a rival ADC faction led by Nafiu Bala Gombe—as part of an alleged attempt to weaken opposition parties and undermine political competition ahead of the 2027 general elections. The ruling affected the Senator David Mark-led leadership and Atiku’s joint ticket with Rotimi Amaechi.

Furthermore, Atiku accused those in power of deploying political pressure and courtroom manoeuvres to frustrate the opposition. He also raised concerns over attempts to compromise the voters’ register through AI-generated photographs and fictitious identities, warning that it could push Nigeria toward a one-party state.

Criticizing the Federal Government’s economic policies, he cited rising fuel prices, naira depreciation, and insecurity. Atiku urged his supporters not to lose hope, stating: “Your vote is your power, and together, we will take our country back.”
