Transcorp Power Declares N41.25bn Dividend on Stronger 2025 Earnings, Rewards Shareholders with N5.50 Per Share

Transcorp Power Plc has declared a total dividend of N41.25 billion for the 2025 financial year, following improved earnings performance driven by higher generation output and operational efficiency gains .

The company announced this at its 13th Annual General Meeting held in Abuja on Monday, April 27, 2026 .

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Emmanuel Nnorom, disclosed that the total dividend comprises N5.50 per share. This includes an interim dividend of N1.50 per share paid in August 2025 and a final dividend of N4.00 per share approved at the AGM .

“The Board of Directors have recommended a full dividend of N5.50 per share… being a total dividend of N41,250,000,000,” Nnorom stated .

Financial Performance Highlights
The company delivered a resilient performance in 2025 despite macroeconomic and sectoral pressures:

Revenue: Rose 30% from N305.9 billion in 2024 to N398.27 billion in 2025

Profit After Tax: Increased 14.25% to N91.42 billion from N80 billion recorded in the previous year

Gross Profit: Climbed 14% to N162.44 billion

Growth Drivers
According to the company, performance was driven by enhanced generation capacity and disciplined cost management. The return of GT20 added 100MW to the national grid from January 3, 2025, significantly improving overall generation output .

Nnorom noted that the performance was achieved amid elevated inflation, tight monetary conditions, and rising operating costs, particularly in gas transportation, maintenance, and logistics .

MD/CEO Peter Ikenga remarked that the company increased its average available capacity from 417MW to 550MW during the year and reduced loan obligations by approximately N7 billion, which directly enhanced the bottom line .

Shareholder Value
The company also reported:

Total Assets: Grew 42% to N563.48 billion

Total Equity: Increased 44% to N183.40 billion

Earnings Per Share (EPS): Rose to N12.19 from N10.67 in 2024

The dividend is payable on May 5, 2026, to shareholders whose names appear on the Register of Members as of April 17, 2026 .
