KADUNA – Tensions escalated in the Kajuru community of Kaduna State on Tuesday as the bandits responsible for abducting 177 worshippers from a mosque last weekend called villagers, issuing threats over increased military presence in the area.
Reliable sources confirmed to CDA News that the kidnappers warned locals against cooperating with security forces deployed for search and rescue operations. They threatened severe consequences if military patrols did not withdraw from the vicinity.
This development complicates ongoing efforts to secure the release of the hostages, who were taken from the Juma’at mosque in Unguwan Maikudi, Kajuru, during a dawn raid. Security operatives are proceeding with caution, balancing rescue efforts with the safety of the broader community.
Community leaders and security agencies have appealed for calm, urging residents to report suspicious activities while avoiding direct confrontation with the armed criminals.
