4. Benue community conducts mass burial for 16 killed by suspected herdsmen
Tears and anguish enveloped Efeyi community in Ugboju District of Otukpo LGA, Benue State, on Saturday, as residents conducted a mass burial for 16 persons allegedly killed by suspected armed herdsmen. The victims were killed when attackers invaded the community in the early hours of July 28 .

The PDP on Saturday took a swipe at FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over his remarks on former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Chief Olabode George. The party said Wike’s outburst raises more questions than it answers and further exposes his obsession with Chief George .
6. 13 rescued as residential building collapses in Kano
Thirteen people were rescued after a residential building collapsed in the Dan Dishe area of Kwanar Yashi, Fagge LGA of Kano State, early Saturday morning. Sixteen people were injured in the incident, and the Kano State Fire Service responded to a distress call at about 4:32am .

9. 85-year-old community leader shot dead in Benin
An 85-year-old community leader, Mr Reuben Owie, has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen at his residence in Iguosa, near Okhunhun, Benin City. Owie was reportedly attacked at about 8:15 p.m. on August 2 by two men .
10. Navy recovers 24,000 litres of suspected stolen crude oil in Rivers
The Nigerian Navy has recovered approximately 24,000 litres of product suspected to be stolen crude oil in Bonny LGA of Rivers State. The recovery was contained in an operational report by the Director of Naval Information, Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho .
