Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Whirl Stroke, have killed a suspected kidnapper and arrested two others in separate operations across Benue State. Acting Media Information Officer Lt. Ahmad Zubairu stated this in a statement on Sunday .
4. Family appeals for rescue of abducted Ogun woman
The family of a woman, Olayinka Oremade, who was reportedly abducted by gunmen in the Alapako/Oyebola area of Ogun State, has appealed to the Police and government to intensify efforts to secure her release. The victim was kidnapped alongside one of her staff members on Friday, August 14 .
5. APC wins all chairmanship, councillorship seats in Ebonyi LG poll

A joint security team in Anambra State has raided suspected secessionist hideouts in Ogbaru LGA, killing six suspected members of the group during a prolonged gun battle. One security operative was also killed, while another sustained injuries after an explosive device detonated .

The Chairman of JIBWIS, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has denied the claim that he does not like Christians, describing the reports as “mere allegations.” He said his remarks at a mass wedding ceremony were not meant to express dislike for Christians or non-Muslims .
