8. Police arrest three over alleged murder of FUTO student
The Imo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a 21-year-old student of FUTO, Chinedu Chibuzor Christogonus. The deceased, a 100-level Cyber Security student and member of Man O’ War, was allegedly beaten after being accused of stealing N13,500 .
9. Nigerian-born priest convicted in Texas for sexual assault
A Nigerian-born Roman Catholic priest, Anthony Odiong, has been convicted by a jury in Texas, United States, for sexually assaulting women under his spiritual care. Odiong, 57, was found guilty on one count of first-degree sexual assault and two counts of second-degree sexual assault after a trial in Waco, Texas .
10. ADC NEC demands immediate release of El-Rufai, calls him ‘prisoner of conscience’
The National Executive Committee of the ADC has called for the immediate release of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, describing him as a “prisoner of conscience.” The demand formed part of resolutions reached at the party’s 101st NEC meeting in Abuja .
