A pro-government group, the City Boy Movement, has alleged that the recent attack in Jos was deliberately carried out to embarrass Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his birthday.
In a statement issued by the group, it described the incident as suspicious and politically motivated, suggesting that the timing of the attack raises serious concerns. The group further urged the President to remain resolute and focus on strengthening his leadership team.
“The Jos attack was clearly done to embarrass our President on his birthday. We pray God gives him the wisdom and energy to select capable individuals who can effectively support his administration,” the statement read.
While the group did not provide evidence to substantiate the claim, it emphasized the need for unity and vigilance among Nigerians, especially in the face of security challenges confronting the country.
Security agencies are yet to officially confirm any political motive behind the attack. Analysts have, however, cautioned against premature conclusions, stressing the importance of thorough investigations before attributing responsibility.
The attack in Jos has drawn widespread condemnation, with calls for improved security measures to prevent further loss of lives and property.
As investigations continue, stakeholders have urged calm and restraint, warning against politicizing security incidents that require urgent and coordinated responses.
