UMUARIAGA – In recognition of his commitment to grassroots development and youth empowerment, Chief Chukwunma Victor Nnochiri—ADC chieftain and Abia Central senatorial hopeful—has been honoured with an award for sponsoring the just-concluded Umuariaga Super Unity Cup.
The award was presented by His Royal Highness, Eze Ben Oriaku, the Special Guest of Honour at the event, who praised Chief Nnochiri for his “selfless contribution to the development of the community.”
The football tournament, which fostered unity and sportsmanship within Umuariaga, culminated in a thrilling final where Ikobukwu FC defeated Okpontu FC 3–0 to emerge champions.
Chief Nnochiri, who has been actively involved in community-driven initiatives across the region, described the award as a motivation to do more for the people.
“This recognition is not just for me but for every person who believes in the growth of our community. Sports like football bring us together, and I am glad to contribute to such a noble cause,” he said after receiving the award.
The event was attended by community leaders, youth groups, and football enthusiasts, all of whom celebrated both the sporting success and the philanthropic gesture that made the tournament possible.
This honour adds to Chief Nnochiri’s growing profile as a development-focused leader ahead of the 2027 political season.
