Popular Nigerian singer Habeed Okikiola, known as Portable, was on Monday arraigned before a Federal High Court in Ota, Ogun State, on a nine-count criminal charge and subsequently remanded in prison.
The charges, as detailed by the Ogun State Police, include assault, theft, causing harm, and resisting arrest. The case stems from a New Year’s Day incident at his bar in Iyana Ilogbo, where he is accused of assaulting his estranged partner, Ashabi Simple, several police officers, and other individuals.
A key allegation involves the theft of a Mercedes-Benz E300 valued at N12 million. The presiding judge denied Portable bail, citing the absence of an allegedly assaulted police officer in court, and insisted the officer must be present for bail consideration.
Portable was remanded in custody, with a fresh bail hearing scheduled for January 19, 2026.
