The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday arraigned nine suspected terrorists on a 57-count amended charge over the deadly attack on Yelwata village in Benue State.
Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), led the prosecution team before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, informing the court that the charges relate to the June 13, 2025, attack that killed about 150 persons and destroyed many houses.
The court struck out the initial charge and replaced it with the amended 57-count charge after the defence raised no objection. The suspects then took their plea.
The defendants include Ardo Lawal Mohammed, Muhammadu Saidu, Alhaji Haruna Abdullahi, Yakubu Adamu, Muhammed Musa, Abubakar Adamu, Shaibu Ibrahim, Saleh Mohammed, and Bako Jibrin.
