Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Korea’s Asian Economic Development Committee (AEDC) to commence electric vehicle (EV) production in the country.
Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Senator John Owan-Enoh, announced the deal, describing it as a key step toward implementing Nigeria’s new National Industrial Policy and transitioning to clean mobility.
The partnership will begin with EV assembly before advancing to full-scale local manufacturing. It also includes plans for nationwide EV charging infrastructure and technology transfer to build local skills across the EV value chain.
